Spiritual Formation
Spiritual formation occurs when we undertake a conscious effort to make our relationship with Jesus Christ the center of meaning in our lives.  We deliberately turn to Christ and ask that His values form us in place of the values of our culture which are shaping us now.  When we undertake Christian formation we are seeking to have our eyes, minds, hearts, and wills made new.  We are longing to see the world, so as to understand and love it through the indwelling presence of Christ's Spirit within  us.  When we think about the enormity of this transition we may feel like Nicodemus did when he asked if it is possible to be reshaped within our mother's womb (John 3:4).  Our comfort is the words of Jesus to Nicodemus in that our reformation is possible because "with God all things are possible."  From An Introduction to Spiritual Formation, by Dr. Betty Talbert, Baylor University's Truett Theological Seminary.

Retirement Village

Central Baptist Church has a special ministry to Senior Adults.  In 1978, the church dedicated a Retirement Village, equipped to house sixteen residents.  For 23 years, the successful ministry of the Retirement Village has been made possible by the generosity of board members, pastors, church members, Village residents, and members of the community.  The Village is administered by a voluntary board comprised of Central church members.

"For over 25 years now, the Village has been providing seniors a place to live in privacy and dignity, with an atmosphere of love and care."
